Xiamen Wants More Inbound Travelers
Since the beginning of this year, Xiamen has initiated measures to bring more inbound travelers from overseas.

Its five main measures include strengthening the marketing in major tourist resource regions like Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and Europe; enhancing exchange and communication with friendship cities in Japan and Malaysia; carrying out international travel charter plane services; actively inviting overseas travelers and media to visit Xiamen for travel opportunity exploration; and vigorously expanding cruise the sector.

Statistics from the Xiamen Municipal Tourism Bureau show that in the first six months of this year, the city received 575,000 inbound tourists, which was an increase of 26% compared with the same period of last year. Of the total inbound tourists, 424,000 stayed at least one night in Xiamen, increasing by 18%. During the period, Xiamen received a total tourism income of US$340 million, up 24% for its inbound travel statistics.(Source:chinadaily)
